Pune: Baramati To Get Sub Police Headquarters For Better Law and Order

Pune, August 30, 2020: The state government has sanctioned a sub-headquarters of the Pune rural police in Baramati taluka for better maintenance of law and order in the southern part of the district. Baramati is the political bastion of the ruling Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) supremo Sharad Pawar and Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar.
Now required infrastructure like an armoury, drill-ground, residential quarters and administrative buildings will be built in Barhanpur village, about 100 km from Pune rural police headquarters in Pune.
The government order states, “In Baramati taluka of Pune district, due to political, educational, industrial and other reasons, a large number of police personnel required to maintain law and order have to be called from other places. If the security has to be extended to the southern boundary of Pune district, there will be a delay until the arrival of police. Meanwhile, if something goes wrong, it will adversely affect the available manpower. For this purpose, if a sub-headquarters is set up at Barhanpur, Baramati taluka, the situation can be handled properly with the availability of manpower to maintain law and order and the unnecessary time required to reach the spot will be saved.”
