School also conducted a quiz and an interactive session between students and Yoga Practitioner Anvita Singh. “It’s great to follow something which is 5000 years old in Indian culture and where people try to control their body and mind, through mental focus and breathing methods. Practising Yoga every day would certainly produce positive thoughts and boost immunity in the youth of our nation. And this is how we can make a fit India,” said principal Bhavana Rai.

On December 11, 2014, the United National General Assembly declared June 21 as International Day of Yoga, months after Prime Minister Narendra Modi had proposed the idea.

Bharati Vidyapeeth English Medium School, Balewadi, is contributing towards the noble cause of spreading awareness about the benefits of yoga and bringing and rebuilding the lost reputation of old Indian culture.
