Pune: Bharati Vidyapeeth’s New Law College Wins 6th Surana & Surana Moot Court Competition

Pune, 5th September 2023: A team of students representing Bharati Vidyapeeth’s New Law College, Pune, emerged victorious in the 6th Surana & Surana and University Institute of Legal Studies National Environment Law Moot Court Competition-2023 organized by Punjab University, Chandigarh.

They showcased their remarkable advocacy skills and clinched multiple awards, including the Best Overall Speaker, awarded to Atharve Mohan Tiwari, Best Speaker in the Final Rounds, awarded to Ishika, and the 4th Best Memorial Award.

Participating in the competition were Atharve Mohan Tiwari (B.B.A. LL.B 3rd Year), Ishika (B.A.LL.B 3rd Year), and Arundhathi G (B.A.LL.B 3rd Year). The moot proposition centered around International Environmental Laws, attracting participation from 32 teams from across India. Dr. Ujwala Bendale, Dean & In-Charge Principal of New Law College, and Dr. Jyoti Dharm, Vice-Principal, extended their congratulations to the students.

The team from Bharati Vidyapeeth (Deemed to be University)’s New Law College, Pune, left a lasting impression on the judges throughout the competition, receiving special commendations from each one of them. Mr. Pritam Surana, Partner & Head of Operations at Surana & Surana Attorney Generals, particularly praised the excellence of the College, stating, “The College is very good and is growing at a commendable pace. I wish the best for this college.”

The team benefited from the constant support and guidance of Dr. Ujwala Bendale, Dean & In-Charge Principal, and Patron of the Moot Court Society at BVDU’s New Law College, Pune. The College also expressed its gratitude to Ms. Jeffy A. Jacob and the Moot Court Society of New Law College for their guidance and assistance.

Dr. Bendale congratulated the team for their hard work and dedication, motivating them to strive for excellence in upcoming moot court competitions.
