Pune: Bhojpuri Actress and Model Caught in Prostitution Racket at Wakad’s Five-Star Hotel

Wakad, 13th May 2023: The Anti-Human Trafficking Unit (AHTU) of the Pimpri Chinchwad Police has successfully rescued a Bhojpuri actress and a model from a prostitution racket operating at a prestigious five-star hotel in Wakad.

 

Acting on a tip-off, the police deployed an undercover officer as a decoy customer. The accused, upon contact, instructed the officer to book a room at the hotel on May 11. Subsequently, when the women arrived at the designated location, the Pimpri Chinchwad Police swiftly conducted a raid.

 

The detained individuals, including the two victimized women and one agent, were immediately taken to the Wakad Police Station. A case has been registered against them under IPC Section 370(3) and Sections 4 and 5 of the Immoral Traffic (Prevention) Act, 1956. Following necessary legal procedures, the two victimized girls were subsequently released. Further investigation into the matter is currently underway.

 

This commendable operation was conducted under the guidance of Deputy Commissioner of Police (Crime) Swapna Gore and ACP Dr Prashant Amritkar. The team involved Police Inspector Devendra Chavan, PSI Pradipsingh Sisode, Darishhil Solanke, Vijay Kamble, and police personnel Sunil Shirsat, Sudha Toke, Bhagwanta Muthe, Maruti Karchunde, Vaishnavi Gawde, and Sonali Mane.
