Pune: Biker Injured in Late-Night Collision With Pick-Up Truck in Pisoli

Pisoli, 29th September 2026: A biker was seriously injured after a pick-up truck allegedly collided with his motorcycle near Dharmavat Petrol Pump in Pisoli around 1 am on Tuesday. The driver of the pick-up truck reportedly fled the spot along with the vehicle after the accident.

According to preliminary information, the collision caused the biker to fall face-first onto the road. He sustained serious injuries and was immediately rushed to a hospital for medical treatment.

The pick-up truck driver allegedly left the spot without stopping and escaped with the vehicle. The Yeolewadi Police have taken note of the incident and launched an investigation. Police are examining the circumstances surrounding the collision and are working to establish the identity and whereabouts of the vehicle and its driver.

“We have taken note of the incident and are investigating the circumstances of the accident. Efforts are underway to identify the pick-up truck and trace its driver. Further details will be known as the investigation progresses,” said Deepak Karade, Police Inspector, Yeolewadi Police Station.

The accident has once again highlighted concerns over road safety in the Pisoli area. Local residents said that accidents have become a recurring issue in the locality over the past several months. They have raised concerns about increasing traffic, road conditions and the lack of adequate preventive safety measures for motorists and other road users.

Residents have urged the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC), Public Works Department (PWD) and police authorities to take immediate steps to improve road safety and prevent similar incidents.

Among the measures sought by residents are better road infrastructure, adequate street lighting, proper traffic regulation, road signage and other necessary safety interventions based on an assessment of the accident-prone stretches.

Residents have also called for coordination between the concerned civic and police authorities to address the safety concerns in the area and reduce the risk of further accidents.

Meanwhile, the Yeolewadi Police investigation is underway. Further details regarding the injured biker, the vehicle involved and the identity of the driver are awaited.
