Baramati: Two Women Murdered in Baramati’s Sherwadi; Robbery Motive Suspected

Baramati, 29th September 2026: Two women were allegedly murdered after unidentified assailants attacked them with a weapon while they were sleeping outside their house in Sherwadi village of Baramati taluka. The incident came to light on Tuesday morning, sending shockwaves through the area.

The deceased have been identified as Indumati Maruti Ladkat (65) and Krishnabai Kundalik Ladkat (50).

According to preliminary information, the two women were sleeping in an area outside their house when the incident allegedly took place during the night. The assailants reportedly broke open the door of the house before attacking the women.

Indumati Ladkat allegedly suffered a weapon injury to her neck and died in the attack. Krishnabai Ladkat, who was sleeping beside her, was also attacked and succumbed to her injuries.

A robbery motive is being suspected, although police have not yet established the exact reason behind the killings. Officials said the motive will become clear as the investigation progresses.

After receiving information about the incident, police teams reached the spot and inspected the scene. A panchnama was initiated, while investigators began collecting evidence from the area.

Police are also gathering information from local residents and examining evidence recovered from the scene to identify the attackers and establish the sequence of events.

The investigation is currently underway, and further details regarding the accused and the exact motive behind the double murder are awaited.
