Pune: Biker Overtaking Container Truck Collides With Car In Talegaon; Car’s Camera Records Incident
Talegaon, 22nd August 2022: On August 20, a two-wheeler rider was hurt when he struck a car head-on after passing a container truck from the wrong side. The incident happened close to the Talegaon Dabhade area. The entire incident was recorded on the car’s front camera, which revealed the biker’s fault and led to his arrest.
Pimpri-Chinchwad DCP (traffic) Anand Bhoite said, “If the car driver didn’t have the proof, the police would have filed a case against him and the container driver. The video shows the biker’s error.”
A case was filed after the car’s driver Pravin Darvade complained about the biker Balu Shilvane. According to the FIR, the motorcyclist was travelling at a high pace when he attempted to pass a large vehicle from the wrong side and struck Darvade’s car. Darvade showed the footage recorded on the front camera, which revealed the motorcyclist’s error, but the biker continued to blame him despite his slight injuries.
Darvade said, “I was travelling to Mumbai on the day of the accident. After the accident, the biker and I got into a fight. He refused to acknowledge his error. Thankfully, I have a camera in the front of my car, and it has helped me show his fault to the authorities.”
