Aundh, 4th January 2026: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has kicked off its door-to-door election campaign in ward number 8 of the Aundh–Bopodi area with a padyatra covering key localities, including Bopodi–Aundh Road and Bhau Patil Road. The outreach marks the formal start of the BJP’s ground-level campaign ahead of the upcoming municipal elections.

The padyatra is being led by BJP candidate Bhakti Ajit Gaikwad, a social worker who has been active on local civic issues in the area. Senior BJP leader and co-panelist Parashuram Wadekar, along with party workers and volunteers, joined the march.

According to party sources, the campaign received a strong response on its first day, with residents stepping out of homes and shops to interact with the campaign team. Senior citizens, homemakers and young voters were seen sharing local concerns and engaging in brief discussions as the padyatra passed through residential pockets and busy commercial stretches.

The visible presence of party workers and supporters added to the campaign’s outreach, drawing the attention of passers-by and creating momentum along the route. BJP leaders said the turnout and interactions on day one reflected effective organisational coordination and growing support for the party’s panel in the ward.

The BJP said the door-to-door campaign aims to establish direct contact with voters and strengthen its grassroots connect by addressing civic issues raised during the outreach. With the padyatra setting the tone, the party plans to intensify neighbourhood-level interactions in the coming days as part of its ward-wise campaign strategy.
