Pune, 6th February 2024: An FIR has been registered against the director of a job placement agency for allegedly cheating young individuals by accepting money under the pretext of assisting them in securing employment.

Based on a complaint from a 24-year-old woman, the Parvati police station has filed a case against Rafiur Mondol, the director of SpinSourz company, which operates from Lotus Court building near Panchami Hotel on Pune-Satara Road.

According to the police, the incident occurred between February 2 and 5. The accused collected approximately Rs 3000 from the youths. The complainant was promised the position of a data entry operator with a salary of Rs 23,000. However, after the interview and payment of the fees, she did not receive the appointment letter.

The police have registered a case against the accused for offence under section 420 (cheating) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).

The incident came to light when Shailja Bhaskar Pathak, the woman president of Bharatiya Janata Party Ward No. 17, informed BJP’s Pune city spokesperson Pushkar Tuljapurkar, stating that the company had defrauded around 70 financially disadvantaged young women.

Tuljapurkar stated, “I discovered that it was a case of fraud and informed Senior Police Inspector Nand Kumar Gaikwad of Parvati Police Station, urging him to promptly raid the office of that company. Recognizing the seriousness of the incident, he immediately dispatched a team and apprehended the accused.”

BJP’s Pune city president Dheeraj Ghate and Mahila Aghadi Priyanka Shendge Shinde followed up on the case until the FIR was registered.
