Pune: BJP Maharashtra President Defends RSS Connection Of Arrested DRDO Scientist Kurulkar, Highlights Individual Accountability
Pune, 18th May 2023: Chandrashekhar Bawankule, Maharashtra state president of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), addressed arrested DRDO lab director Pradeep Kurulkar’s association with the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), stating that the actions of an individual cannot be attributed to an entire family or ideology.
During a press conference held at the BJP state executive committee meeting, Bawankule expressed his opinion on the matter. He emphasized the need to wait for the ongoing investigation before making any definitive statements. Bawankule stressed that if there are any wrongdoings by Sameer Wankhede or Kurulkar, they should be appropriately addressed.
In response to allegations by Jitendra Awad of the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) and others, who claimed that Kurulkar had not been charged with sedition, Bawankule highlighted that an investigation is currently underway. He stressed the importance of holding individuals accountable for their actions, while not attributing blame to the entire family.
Bawankule affirmed that if any family member commits a crime, they should face punishment accordingly.
Bawankule’s statements underscored the party’s stance on maintaining transparency and ensuring that those who engage in criminal activities are appropriately punished. He reiterated the need to handle religious matters with sensitivity, urging the avoidance of mixing religion with ongoing investigations.
