Pune: BJP MLC’s Uncle Stabbed 72 Times in Murder Plot Orchestrated by Wife
Hadapsar, 25th December 2024: In a shocking turn of events, Satish Wagh, the maternal uncle of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MLC Yogesh Tilekar, was brutally murdered by his wife, Mohini Wagh, following a series of tense confrontations. The police investigation revealed that Mohini had orchestrated the murder by offering a contract (Supari) worth Rs. 5 lakh to the hired killers.
The authorities arrested Mohini Satish Wagh, aged 48, a resident of Fursungi, on Wednesday night in connection with the murder. She was taken into custody after police discovered that her husband had repeatedly instigated her by involving a tenant, Akshay Jawalkar, in their personal disputes. Wagh didn’t like her closeness with Akshay.
The arrested individuals include Pawan Shyamkumar Sharma (30, resident of Shantinagar, Dhule), Navnath Arjun Gursale (32, resident of Anusaya Park, Wagholi), Vikas Shinde, and Aatish Jadhav.
According to the police, the crime was instigated by a growing tension between Satish Wagh and his tenant, Akshay Jawalkar. Sources said that Wagh had asked Akshay to vacate the property after a heated argument, and Wagh’s close relationship with Mohini had further upset him. As a result, Mohini, in a moment of desperation, allegedly instructed Akshay to kill her husband.
The police investigation revealed that Mohini offered a substantial sum of Rs. 5 lakh to the killers. Akshay initially paid Rs. 1.5 lakh to Pawan Sharma, who had played a role in the kidnapping.
On December 9, 2024, Wagh went for his usual morning walk, unaware of the deadly plot unfolding. As he walked, Akshay, Pawan, Navnath, Vikas, and Aatish ambushed him, forcibly taking him into a car. In a chilling act, they stabbed Wagh 72 times in the moving vehicle before dumping his body in the Uruli Kanchan area of Shindavane Ghat.
Following a thorough investigation, the police arrested all five suspects involved in the murder.
