Pune: BJP State General Secretary Mohol’s Name Used In Rs 3 Crore Extortion Attempt

Kothrud, 27th March 2023: Pune city police have registered a case against two individuals, Sandeep Pirgonda Patil and Shekhar Gajanan Takwane, for allegedly extorting Rs 3 crore from a builder in the name of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) state general secretary and ex-mayor of Pune, Muralidhar Mohol.

The accused individuals contacted the builder using mobile technology, claiming to be organizing an event for the BJP’s Yuva Marcha and demanding money for it. If the builder failed to comply, they threatened to harm his business in the future. The builder filed a complaint with the Kothrud police station, leading to the registration of a case for offences under the Information Technology Act and the Indian Penal Code (IPC).

The accused individuals have been booked for extortion and threatening the builder’s business.

Police are further investigating the case.
