Pune: Bluestag S.A Upset Roopali SC In City Cup 2021
Pune, 15th November 2021: Bluestag S.A staged a comeback to upset Super Division side Roopali SC to advance in the inaugural City Cup 2021 knock-out tournament at the City Sports Arena, Moshi-Pune, on Monday.
The tournament is being organised by City F.C Pune under the aegis of the Poona District Football Association (PDFA).
Roopali S.C were the first to take the lead when Shubham Potghan (7th) found the net. Bluestag S.A took twenty minutes to level terms when Prashant Thorat (27th) made it 1-1.
Sachin Chandel (30th) added another to help Bluestag S.A lead 2-1 at halftime.
In the second half, Tanmay Barve (45th), Aniket Gain (51st) and Vijay Sayalu (58th) scored to complete the upset.
In the second match of the day, AIYFA scored a huge 6-0 win over ABC F.C to advance into the next round.
A brace of goals by Hritik Patil (24th, 48th), who one in each half of the match, was the feature of AIYFA’s win. Himanshu Chavan (13th), Raj More (18th), Ghanshyam P (28th) and Samuel Selvadas (50th) completed the tally.
