Pune: Body Of Vastu Consultant Found In Nira River, Was Murdered By Friends For Ornaments

Pune, 6th November 2022: After a Vastu consultant from Bibwewadi was abducted and his body dumped in the Nira river, the police conducted a search operation and retrieved the body. Two accused were recently arrested in the murder case.

The deceased consultant has been identified as Nilesh Varaghde (43), a resident of Indiranagar, Bibvewadi. The names of those arrested in this case are Deepak Jayakumar Narle, a resident of Narhe, and Ranjit Gyandev Jagdale (29). Rupali Rupesh Varaghde (40) filed a complaint in this regard.

After the investigation, the police arrested the accused. The accused had told the police that Varaghde’s body was thrown into the river from the Sarola bridge. After that, the police searched for the dead body in the Nira river.

Police, with the help of Mahabaleshwar Trekkers, Pratapgad Search and Rescue Team, Bhoiraj Disaster Team, Wild West Adventure Ratnagiri, Maharashtra Disaster Management Team, local fishermen and Murad Patel from Shirwal, finally recovered Varaghde’s body from the riverbed at Sarola on the 17th day.

Assistant Inspector Praveen Kalukhe, Sub-Inspector Sanjay Adaling, and Vivek Sisal took this action under the guidance of Bibwewadi Police Station Senior Police Inspector Sangeeta Jadhav and Police Inspector Anita Hivarkar.

Varaghde was a Vastu consultant. The accused was known to him. Varaghde was given sedatives in coffee. He was strangled to death after falling unconscious. After that, to destroy the evidence, his body was stuffed in a sack and dumped in the Nira river, and the accused fled.

Varaghde loved to wear gold jewellery. The police investigation has revealed that the accused killed him to steal the jewellery. The police have seized valuables worth Rs 19.16 lakh from the accused, including two two-wheelers, jewellery and a mobile phone.
