Pune: Body Parts Suspected To Be Of Poached Animal Seized From Farm House, Two Booked

Pune 21st August 2023: In a shocking incident reported at a farm house in the Mandvi Budruk village near Khadakwasla, body parts of a poached animal, believed to be of a leopard were found hidden. The officials from the forest department conducted a raid and seized claws and nails of the animals from the spot.

In this case, wildlife conservation laws such as the Wildlife Protection Act of 1972 and the Indian Forest Act of 1927 have been invoked against two people identified as Vishwajeet Jadhav and Abhijit Jadhav. Both accused are currently on the run.

The forest officials were informed that the limbs of a poached animal were kept hidden. Accordingly, a raid was conducted and during the search at the farmhouse the forest officials discovered claws and nails resembling those of a poached animal hidden in a wardrobe. Other body parts of the animal were not found at the spot and the officials are investigating further to find more information on it. Further investigation in the matter is underway.
