Maval, 23rd May 2023: The Forest Department has recently installed CCTV cameras and solar lights at Ekvira Fort to enhance the safety of devotees. Additionally, benches have been arranged for the convenience of devotees and tourists.

Vehergaon (Karla), located in the Maval taluka, attracts a large number of devotees and tourists who come to seek the blessings of Ekvira Devi and explore the Karla caves. To ensure their safety, solar lights, CCTV cameras, and fences have been installed both at Ekvira Fort and in the cave area.

This initiative has been carried out under the guidance of Chief Conservator of Forests NR Pravin, Sub Conservator of Forests Rahul Patil, Assistant Conservator of Forests Mayur Bothe, Forest Range Officer Shirota Sushil Mantawar, Forest Range Officer Karla Pramod Raskar, and Forest Guard Ganesh Dhulshete.

It has been observed that some visitors tend to litter the fort and its surroundings by discarding water bottles. To address this issue, the Forest Department plans to install a bottle crusher for effective management of plastic waste in the area.
