Pune-bound Jhelum Express derails in Punjab, 3 passengers injured

Pune – In an unfortunate incident the 11078 Jammu Tawi-Pune Jhelum Express has been derailed by 10 Coaches (One Pentry, B-5 and S1 to S8) at 3.10 hrs this morning between Phillor and Ladowal stations of Jallandhar-Ludhiana section of Ferozpur Division of Northern Railway.

03 passengers received minor injuries in the incident and they have already been provided with the necessary medical treatment. The Medical Van and Accident Relief Train have reached at the derailment site. Divisional Railway Manager, Ferozpur with team of senior officers have already reached at site. The General Manager Northern Railway Sh. A.K. Puthia has proceeded for the site. The local administration has also been supportive.

The front intact portion of 11078 Jhelum Express i.e. Engine and 08 Coaches has been moved to the next station after accommodating all the passengers for arranging their onward journey. The rear 06 unaffected Coaches have been moved to Phillor. Buses are also being arranged for passengers willing to continue their journey by bus.

Due to derailment, four trains have been cancelled which are :-

14682 Jallandhar-New Delhi Intercity,
12460 Amritsar-New Delhi Intercity ,
12054 Amritsar-Haridwar Janshatabdi and
12242 Amritsar-Chandigarh Superfast .
