Pune: Boy Dies After Falling Into Lift Duct Of Under-Construction Building

Kirkatwadi, 12th November 2022: An unfortunate incident of the death of a nine-year-old boy has taken place after falling into the lift duct of an under-construction building in Bhairavanath Nagar, Kirkatwadi, adjacent to the Kirkatwadi – Sinhagad road.

The deceased boy has been identified as Prathamesh Gopal Kadawat, a resident of Bhairavanath Nagar, Kirkatwadi. He was the only son of the family. His parents work as daily wage labourers.

Prathamesh was flying kites with his friends till this afternoon. His parents, who came home after working as masons, started searching the area but he was not seen. Other citizens of the area were also searching. At around 7 pm, a person looked into the elevator duct of the building where work was going on and saw Prathamesh in the water.

After getting information, the Haveli police station team led by Police Naik Deepak Gaikwad reached the spot under the guidance of Police Inspector Sadashiv Shelar. After inspecting the spot, Gaikwad called the Nanded City Fire Brigade of PMRDA to retrieve the body of Prathamesh. The body has been sent to Sassoon Hospital for post-mortem and Haveli Police is investigating the case.
