The 15 year old Pune based player Samant a 10th standard student of Abhinav English Medium School ,playing with white pieces opened with Kings Pawn to score a win in 34 moves against overnight board leader Anadkat Kartavya from Gujarat. International Master and top seeded Vikramaditya Kulkarni and FM Sauravh Khherdekar are joint second with 7 points apiece
