Pune: SNBP Academy Eves Delight Home Crowd

Pune, 13th November 2021: Hosts SNBP Academy eves opened their campaign with a narrow win over Hockey Solapur in the opening match of the 3rd SNBP Women’s State-level Women’s Championship at the Dr. Dashrath Hockey Stadium, Chikali-Pune, here on Saturday.

 

Playing on their own ground and home crowd, SNBP Academy delighted all when Jiya Singh (22nd) scored to give her side the lead. Pragati Jedge (36th) made it 2-0 to put SNBP Academy in the driver’s seat.

 

Solapur pulled one back through Santoshi Gadekar (37th) to sign off the match.

 

In other matches, Maharashtra XI downed Satara 8-0 to register the highest win of the day. The win was powered by a four-goal effort by Sukanya Dhawre (10th, 12th, 22nd, 38th), a brace by Manashri Shedge (17th, 40th) and a goal each by Utkarsha Kale (21st) and Kirti Dhepe (39th) completed the tally.

 

Khelo India Centre, Kolhapur fought off the stiff challenge from Pune XI via the shoot-out after both played out a 1-1 draw at the end of full time.

 

Pune XI took the lead when Durga Shinde (10th) scored, before Krushna Mane (27th) equalised for Kolhapur (1-1). In the shoot-out, Poonam Garad, Shefali Patil, Tejaswani Kharade, Sanika Mane netted for Kolhapur, while Samruddhi Zujam, Diksha Avghade scored for Pune XI.

 

Later, Nashik Academy pushed aside Jalgaon Hockey Academy 4-0 with Sakshi Pagar (21st), Sanchi Gangurde (25th), Deepali Patil (27th) and Nazia Khan (32nd) scored.

 

Earlier, the tournament was inaugurated by Dr. Vrishali Bhosale, President SNBP Group of Institute and Adv, Rutuja Bhosale, Director SNBP Group also present was Dr. DK Bhosale, Chairman SNBP Group and Guest of Honour, Santosh Barne, Social Worker, Director Silver Fitness Group and Chairman Maharashtra Kick Boxing Association.
