Pune: Builder And Lift Maintenance Firm Booked For Faulty Lift Posing Danger To Residents In Society
Pune 29th July 2023: A resident of a housing society located in Bavdhan has lodged a complaint against a builder and a firm responsible for lift maintenance for faulty lift and lack of maintenance. According to the complainant, the lift at Sai Velocity Society Phase 2 located in Jadhavwadi in Bavdhan poses danger to residents living in the society and his family had a narrow escape in one such incident when lift came down from tenth floor to the ground floor.
According to complaint, the complainant’s wife and his child used the lift to reach their flat located on the tenth floor. However, the lift stopped on the seventh floor and as they came out, the lift went down without even door getting closed to the ground floor. The complainant’s family had a narrow escape as they already managed to come out before the incident.
However, he claimed in his complaint that the builder and lift maintenance firm have been informed about the technical problem in the society’s lift on multiple occasions but despite that they failed to take any action on the matter. The resident has now lodged a complaint with police against the builder and lift maintenance firm for installing faulty lift and not maintaining it by causing danger to the residents.
A case in this regard has been registered at Hinjewadi Police Station under sections 336 and 34 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) against Prakash Pandurang Chavan, Anil Ramchandra Jadhav and officials of Retake Company that is responsible for the maintenance of the lift. Further investigation in the matter is underway.
