Pune: Builder Booked After Worker Falls To Death From Fifth Floor

Mundhwa, 8th July 2022: A worker was trying to remove a helmet from the safety net and fell from the fifth floor and died. The incident took place around 2.30 pm on 29th June at the construction site of ‘Venkatesh Graffiti Glover’ building in Mundhwa.

The deceased has been identified as Harshit Biswas (29), a native of West Bengal, who lived in Keshavnagar. A case has been registered at Mundhwa Police Station against the builder and contractor of ‘Venkatesh Graffiti Glover’ site. Shampa Harshit Biswas, wife of the deceased, has lodged the complaint in this regard.

According to police, Biswas was working at the construction site of ‘Venkatesh Graffiti Glover’. The helmet on his head fell on the safety net in the dock on the fifth floor while he was working. As he set foot on the mesh to remove the helmet, the nylon mesh rope broke and he fell down from the fifth floor. He died due to the injuries.

The complainant said that her husband died after falling from the fifth floor as the concerned builder and contractor did not provide full safety cover to the stairs.

Police are further investigating the case.
