Pune: Builder Booked Under MOFA Act For Cheating Customer By Not Giving Possession Of Flat In Time

Kondhwa, 29th December 2022: A case was registered against a builder under the Maharashtra Ownership Flats Act (MOFA) for not handing over possession of the flat in time.

In this regard, a case has been registered against builder Rishabh Parasamal Jain along with the partners of Balaji Construction Company. Mayur Vilas Kothari (32), a resident near Sant Namdev School, Maharshinagar has filed a complaint at Kondhwa Police Station in this regard.

Kothari had dealt with the purchase of a flat in Jain’s housing project in the Pisoli area of Kondhwa. Kothari had deposited Rs 19 lakh in Jain’s company account.

Jain had given a temporary allotment letter and said that he would give possession of the flat to Kothari in 36 months. After accepting the full payment from Kothari, Jain did not hand over possession of the flat after the completion of 36 months.

Along with fraud and embezzlement, a case has been registered against Jain under the MOFA Act. Police Sub-Inspector Sheikh is investigating the case further.
