Pune: Burglars Break Into SBI ATM Machine In Ravivar Peth, Bank Officials Unaware Of The Incident For Five Days

Pune 18th July 2023: A Deputy Manager working with the State Bank Of India has lodged a complaint with Pune City Police about a burglary reported at a bank’s ATM machine located in the Ravivar Peth area. The incident took place at the bank’s ATM machine located at Phadke Haud between July 10 and 15.

According to police, the burglars broke the ATM machine using cutters and an iron rod and ran away with cash worth Rs 13,34,200. A case in this regard has been lodged at Faraskhana Police Station under sections 380 and 427 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) against unidentified accused.

Interestingly the bank officials were unaware of the theft for five days as the system that alerts the bank in case of ATM theft was not functional. “Only after the bank officials realised that the cash has been stolen from the ATM machine they have lodged a complaint with us. We have recovered some CCTV footage in the case and we are investigating further in the matter” said police.
