Pune: Burglary In Karvenagar, Hadapsar Area On Occasion Of Dhantrayodashi; Goods Worth Rs 15 Lakhs Stole By Thieves
Pune, 24th October 2022: On the occasion of Dhantrayodashi, thieves stole ornaments brought for worship. Thieves stole goods worth Rs 15 lakhs by breaking into a house in Karvenagar and breaking into a mobile shop in Hadapsar. The incident took place in a bungalow in Karvenagar on Friday (October 21) between 11.00 pm and 6.00 am. Gaurav Honrao has filed a complaint at Malwadi Police Station.
Gold and silver ornaments are worshipped on the day of Dhantrayodashi. For this, the young man from Karvenagar had brought gold and silver jewellery from the bank locker to his house. After performing pooja, the Honrao family went to sleep for the night. However, they did not lock the door of the bungalow completely.
Taking advantage of it, the thieves entered and stole 226 grams of gold and 50 grams of silver jewellery worth Rs 7.93 lakh which were offered to God. Police sub-inspector Rameshwar Parve is investigating the case.
Another incident has come to light where thieves broke into a grocery store and warehouse in the Kanade Nagar area of Undri and stole oil cans, soft drink boxes, cashews, and almonds worth Rs 89,750.
The owner of the godown has filed a complaint in this regard. Accordingly, a case has been registered against the thieves at the Kondhwa Police Station. Police sub-inspector Birajdar is investigating the case further.
Apart from this, thieves stole 40 mobile phones worth Rs 7.18 lakh by breaking the window on the shutter of a mobile shop in the Hadapsar area on Dhantrayodashi. The shop owner has filed a complaint at Hadapsar police station. Accordingly, a case has been registered against the thieves. Police sub-inspector Shinde is investigating the matter further.
