Pune: Businessman Abducted On Pretext Of Vehicle Repair, Two Arrested By Lonikand Police

Pune, 24th October 2022: The Lonikand police arrested two people who called a businessman on the pretext of repairing a vehicle, kidnapped him and demanded a ransom of Rs 5 lakhs and extorted Rs 1.5 lakh. The incident took place on October 22 around 10.30 pm on Kesnand Theur road.

 

The names of the arrested are Rahul Motale (21), and Suraj Jambhale (18) while the third accomplice, Vishal Jagdale ran away. Rajiv Laxmanprasad Singh (36), a resident of Kesanand has filed a complaint at Lonikand police station.

Accused Rahul is an acquaintance of Rajiv. He forced Rajiv to bring Alishan’s motor for repair. After that accused Suraj and Vishal blindfolded Rajiv. They forced him into a car and demanded a ransom of 5 lakhs. After a compromise, they asked him to pay 1.5 lakh rupees.

 

The accused then left Rajiv and threatened him that they will kidnap his daughter if Rajiv told the incident to anyone.

 

This operation was carried out under the guidance of Deputy Commissioner of Police Rohidas Pawar, and Senior Police Inspector Gajanan Pawar.
