Pune, 30th December 2023: In a proactive move to curb the rising incidents of two-wheeler thefts in Pune, a targeted campaign has been launched, resulting in the successful apprehension of two thieves and the recovery of six stolen bikes by the Anti-Dacoity and Anti-Vehicle Theft Squad, Crime Branch of Pune city police.

The arrested individuals have been identified as Karthik Dattatray Dalvi (20) of Paud, and Digambar alias Dinu Ankush (26) of Upper Indiranagar. The duo was found in possession of six stolen bikes with an estimated value of 1 lakh 40 thousand.

The investigation stemmed from a case registered at Kothrud police station, where police constables Sumit Takpere, Mahesh Patil, and Srikant Dagde received information from an informant. The tip-off indicated that the accused, who were involved in stealing two-wheelers in the registered crime, were residing near Warje Bridge.
