Pune: Capacity Building Commission Visits National Academy of Defence Financial Management

Camp, 7th October 2021: The Capacity Building Commission (CBC) visited the National Academy of Defence Financial Management (NADFM), Pune on Wednesday.

 

The Capacity Building Commission (CBC) was set up under the government’s ‘Mission Karmayogi’ – The National Programme for Civil Services Capacity Building (NPCSCB), for bringing major reforms in bureaucracy. The Commission’s mandate is functional supervision of training institutions and to facilitate in preparation of annual capacity building plans.

 

NADFM Pune is a Central Training Institute (CTI) of Govt. of India engaged in training and development of IDAS officers of the Defence Accounts Department. It also conducts courses for officers of Defence Services and their allied organizations.

 

The Committee comprised of Adil Zainulbhai, Chairperson of the CBC, Praveen Pardeshi (Member) and HemangJani (Secretary). The Committee was given a holistic presentation by Anand Agrawal, Director, NADFM on the training imparted, new initiatives taken and the Academy’s vision to become a Centre of Excellence for Defence Finance.

 

The presentation was followed by a discussion of the Committee members with other dignitaries, MayankTewari, Joint Secretary (MoD), Satish TJ, Deputy Secretary (MoD) and Mihir Kumar, IFA(SC) on the need for adoption of andragogical principles, centralised digital library and e-learning.

 

The CBC members highly appreciated GYAN SUDHA, a self-paced e-learning platform, developed in-house at NADFM. They were also impressed with the ‘Formal Mentoring Scheme’ that is in place and recommended institutionalising the same.
