Pune: Car Catches Fire After Colliding With Dumper, Woman Driver Rescued Safely

Kalyaninagar, 19th April 2023: A stationary dumper was hit from behind by a car which caught fire in front of Agakha Palace on Ahmednagar-Pune Road.

Eyewitnesses reported that the female driver, aged between 35 and 37 years, was rescued from the burning Ford EcoSport car by a trained fireman who broke the glass with his helmet. The driver, from Vadgaonsheri, was taken to safety.

The security guards of Shantivan software hub, located near the spot, tried to put out the fire using the company’s firefighting system. A fire brigade team soon arrived and managed to extinguish the flames.

The operation was carried out by Fire Brigade Officer-in-Charge Sopan Pawar, Driver Sachin Waghmare, Fireman Sachin Joujale, Sanjay Karle, Helper Rahul Wadekar, Sharad Darade, and Akshay Kedari.
