Pune: Car Hits Bridge Painters, Leaves Two Dead and Four Injured On Highway In Warje
Warje, 30th January 2024: Two workers lost their lives after being hit by a car while engaged in painting the bridge deck near Dukkar Khind in Warje, Pune. The incident took place around 3.30 pm.
The deceased workers have been identified as Sunny Goud (23) and Vijay Chavan (28), both natives of Uttar Pradesh. Both workers fell off the bridge upon impact and succumbed to their injuries on the spot.
Alongside the fatalities, four other workers sustained injuries in the accident. Emergency services rushed to the scene to attend to the injured and transport them for medical care.
The accused driver, identified as 34-year-old Balu Mahadev Shinde, was promptly taken into custody by the Warje police. The investigation revealed that the accident transpired during painting work assigned to Reliance Company through the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI).
Further investigation is going on.
