Pune: Car Parked At Home But Rs 310 Deduced From Owner’s FASTag Wallet

Pune, February 19, 2021: A man from Pune received alert messages and Rs 310 was debited from his FASTag account. He has claimed that his car was at home the entire day.
Vinod Joshi, an IT employee, used his car to drop his daughter at school at Senapati Bapat Road on Wednesday. After this, his car had all day been parked at his home. Even then he received three SMS alerts for passing by the toll plazas and the amount got debited from his FASTag wallet.
The first SMS he received stated that Rs 40 was debited from his wallet at Vashi toll plaza, he received the second SMS soon after the first which stated Rs 203 was debited from his wallet at Khalapur toll plaza. And the third SMS stated Rs 67 was debited from his account at Talegaon toll plaza.
Joshi tried to contact the bank’s customer care but received no help. So he lodged a complaint with the issuing bank and will soon complain regarding the same to Maharashtra State Road Development Corporation (MSRDC) which is responsible for toll plazas.
