Pune University Gets Government Nod To Start Sub-Center In Qatar

Pune, February 19, 2021: Maharashtra’s Higher Education Minister Uday Samant has stated that Savitribai Phule Pune University (SPPU) has been given permission to start a sub-centre in Doha, Qatar. He was addressing at SPPU on Thursday where he attended the Grievance Redressal Forum meeting and heard the issues related to the students.

Samant said, “SPPU has been given the necessary approval to start its course in Doha, Qatar. There was an agreement in 2019 between the SPPU and the Government of Qatar to open a sub-centre there.”

The minister said that due to Covid-19, the stalled recruitment process in the university will be restored. Samant said that a sub-centre of Yashwantrao Chavan Maharashtra Open University would be opened in Balewadi, Pune.

According to the SPPU, out of a total of 4,411 pending complaints, 4053 complaints involving students, teachers, principals, non-teaching staff and other employees were settled during the meeting.
