Pune: Case Filed Against 4 Teachers For Mistreating Orphan Children In Ambegaon

Ambegaon, 27th December 2024: A complaint was filed against teachers of the Pune Zilla Parishad Primary School for allegedly mistreating students from a childcare centre in Ambegaon taluka, Pune district. A case has been registered against four teachers under the Juvenile Justice (Care and Protection of Children) Act, 2015, Assistant Police Inspector Kiran Bhalekar informed.

According to the police, special-category orphan children from the care centre near Ghodegaon in Ambegaon Taluka were studying at the Zilla Parishad School in Ambegaon Gaothan. Vilas Pandare, secretary of the children’s home and care facility for orphans and destitute children run by the Sahyadri Rural Development Foundation—alleged that the teachers had made these children perform menial tasks.

The police investigated the matter and registered a case against the four teachers. Further investigation is being carried out by Police Sub-Inspector Mahesh Pawar under the guidance of Assistant Police Inspector Kiran Bhalekar.
