Pune: Case Filed Against Pet Shop Owner and Staff After Dog’s Death in Kalyaninagar
Kalyaninagar, 16th October 2025: The Yerawada Police have registered a case against three people, including the owner of a pet shop in Kalyaninagar, following the death of a pet dog allegedly due to negligence. The complaint was lodged by a young woman residing in Vadgaon Sheri.
According to the police, the complainant’s dog, named Dash, was sent to Vetic Pet Shop in Kalyaninagar on September 28 for grooming and care. After being given a bath at the shop, the dog reportedly began vomiting and later died.
In her complaint, the woman alleged that the dog was mishandled during the bathing process and that the negligence of the pet shop staff led to its death. Acting on her statement, police have registered a case against the shop owner and two employees under Section 11 of the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act and other relevant provisions.
Assistant Police Inspector Dinesh Patil from Yerawada Police Station is investigating the case.
