Pune, 13th August 2023: In a dedicated effort to ensure that students from backward classes do not face any hurdles in securing admissions to vocational courses due to the absence of caste validity certificates, the verification of caste certificates will continue even on weekends and holidays.

Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Research and Training Institute (BARTI) Director General, Sunil Vare, has issued a directive to all District Caste Certificate Verification Committees to facilitate this crucial process.

The State Common Entrance Test Cell is currently overseeing the admission process for reserved category students seeking entry into Degree and Post Graduate courses across fields such as Higher and Technical Education, Agriculture, Medical-Ayush, and Arts for the academic year 2023-24. The CET Cell has already announced the admission dates for various courses.

Up to the end of July 2023, the various caste verification committees successfully resolved a total of 43,359 cases. However, some students submitted their applications later, spanning the months of July and August. Students eligible for the Common Entrance Test (CET) have been promptly informed about any discrepancies via messages and emails, urging them to address the issues.

Despite the notifications, a certain group of students has yet to engage with the caste verification committee to rectify the errors. While the responsibility to correct these inaccuracies rests with the applicants themselves, BARTI’s Director General emphasized a commitment to minimizing any inconvenience.

Consequently, the office will remain operational on both Saturdays and Sundays, ensuring that no deserving student is left without the necessary support.
