PUNE CELEBRATES RAKSHA BANDHAN WITH  ARMY JAWANS

“Raksha Bandhan”, the traditional Indian festival of bonding and protection, was celebrated with usual fervour and zeal by the Puneites. The occasion was made special and memorable with ladies tying “Rakhi” to the Army personnel at four various locations in Pune. This initiative was spearheaded by Lt Col Suresh Patil (Retd) and Lt Col Laxman Sathe (Retd), President and Vice President respectively, of the NGO named ‘Justice for Jawans’. Approximately 150 ladies each participated in this solemn function at Aundh, Khadki and Pune Camp while 50 ladies participated at Lullanagar. This patriotic event expressed solidarity of the people of Pune with the Armed Forces personnel and also symbolised ceaseless security provided by the security forces to the civil population. The event was witnessed by large number of civil and military personnel including families and also provided another platform for cordial interaction between the Army and the civil population.
