Pune: Central Government Approves Relief Fund To Farmers Affected By Heavy Rains After Almost Two Years

Pune, 10th April 2023: Heavy rains in July 2021 caused a lot of damage. Due to this, the district administration has recently received a fund of Rs 1.89 crore after 1.9 years. This fund will be spent on roads damaged due to heavy rains and water supply schemes that have not been repaired.

23,000 farmers in 381 villages of the district were damaged by the rains in July 2021. Agriculture and fruit crops were damaged in seven talukas. Among them, Maval and Mulshi talukas were the most damaged.

Agriculture, fruit crops houses, roads, and water supply schemes were also damaged. The district administration had submitted a report to the state government regarding the relief fund of Rs 3,43,60,758.

Also, the Divisional Commissionerate had sent a proposal to the Central Government as per the Central Disaster Response Fund criteria for property damage due to heavy rains. Accordingly, after almost two years, this fund has recently been received for the Pune district.
