Pune: Chandannagar Police Arrest Gang Behind Shop Ransacking Over Free Clothes In Kharadi, Parade Them
Kharadi, 6th July 2023: Pune City Police have successfully apprehended a group of individuals involved in the ransacking of a shop after they were denied free clothes. The accused were arrested on the spot by the Chandannagar police, bringing an end to their criminal activities.
The incident was brought to light when Hansram Prajapati lodged a complaint at the Chandannagar police station. According to the police report, on April 21, the accused entered a garment shop, Anjali Collection, in the Sainathanagar area of Kharadi. Three individuals demanded clothes without paying the shop owner, who firmly declined their request. Upon being refused, the gang resorted to vandalizing the shop.
Later, the shopkeeper lodged a complaint at the Chandannagar police station, leading to the registration of an FIR.
The police found that Sanket Khot and two others were the prime suspects involved in the incident. The police promptly apprehended them and recovered the stolen items from the vandalized shop, garnering appreciation from the local community.
To instil confidence among shopkeepers and local residents, the cops paraded the accused on the streets.
