Pune: Chaturshrungi Police Bust Adulterated Ghee Factory Ahead of Festival’s, 650 kg of Fake Ghee Seized

Pune, 3rd October 2023: Chaturshrungi police have unveiled a clandestine operation involving the production and distribution of adulterated ghee, just in time for the festive season. Their crackdown led to the confiscation of a substantial 650 kilograms of this counterfeit product, along with the seizure of the raw materials used in its concoction.

The tip-off that led to this significant bust had indicated the presence of an underground factory, concealed within a tin shed at Bhagwati Nagar in Pashan village, nestled within Pune city. Acting on this information, the police, under the expert guidance of Senior PI Balaji Pandhre from Chaturshrungi police station, launched a decisive raid on the factory.

During the raid, the authorities apprehended Sangram singh Tejsingh Rajput, a 38-year-old resident of Budhwar Peth, in the act of producing this fraudulent ghee. Rajput was caught red-handed, utilizing a dubious mixture of edible soybean oil and Dalda to create the counterfeit ghee product.

The police operation yielded substantial evidence and seizures, including 650 kilograms of the adulterated ghee, 135 kilograms of oil, 105 kilograms of Dalda, 54 empty tin containers, and the machinery employed for packaging, all with an estimated value of ₹3.5 lakh.
