Pune: Check Traffic Diversions In Camp Today For Veer Gogadev Festival

Camp, 7th September 2023: On the occasion of the Veer Gogadev festival, the main procession is scheduled to commence from New Modikhana in the Camp today around 4 pm. Traffic diversions will be implemented to prevent congestion during the procession.

Veer Gogadev Main Procession Route (4 PM):

• The procession will start from New Modikhana and proceed to Pulgate Police Chowky.
• It will then make a left turn onto Center Street, passing in front of Qureshi Masjid.
• From Bhopale Chowk, it will continue through Center Street Chowki, Mahaveer Chowk, and straight along MG Road, culminating near the temple.

Closed Routes and Alternate Routes:

• Traffic approaching MG Road from Golibar Maidan Chowk via Y Junction will be halted at Y Junction and redirected towards Khane Maruti Chowk.
• Traffic traveling along Solapur Road will make a right turn at Khane Maruti Chowk.
• Traffic heading into the city from Khane Maruti Chowk will proceed along East Street Road, turn left at Indira Gandhi Chowk to reach Mahaveer Chowk, and then continue on MG Road. Alternatively, it can turn right at Indira Gandhi Chowk, proceed to Lashkar Police Station Chowk, and then make a left turn through Three Gun Chowk to reach its destination.
• Traffic moving from Volga Chowk to Mohammad Rafi Chowk will be stopped, with redirection through East Street via Indira Gandhi Chowk.
• Traffic from Mahaveer Chowk to Sarbatwala Chowk will be halted and rerouted to Naz Chowk.
• Traffic going from Sarabatwala Chowk to Mahaveer Chowk will be closed and rerouted through Taboot Street.
• Traffic from Babajan Chowk to Bhopale Chowk will be stopped and rerouted to Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Market.
• Traffic bound for Qureshi Masjid from Babajan Chowk will be halted and redirected to Nishant Talkies.
• Depending on the situation, traffic from Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Market to Center Street Chowki and traffic from Kolsa Galli to MG Road may be temporarily closed.

Police said that these traffic arrangements are in place to facilitate the smooth flow of the Veer Gogadev festival procession and ensure the safety of all participants and commuters.
