Pune: Chef Stabbed to Death by Colleague in Mahalunge

Mahalunge, 7th February 2025: A chef was fatally stabbed by a colleague near Aishwarya Hotel in the Kharabwadi area of Mahalunge, Pune, on Friday morning. The incident occurred around noon.

The victim has been identified as Vijay Vinayak Panchale, a 35-year-old resident of Mahalunge, Pune, originally from Amravati. Police have arrested the accused, Uday Prakash Giri, also 35 years old, in connection with the murder.

According to Senior Police Inspector Nitin Gite, both Vijay and Uday were employed as chefs at Aishwarya Hotel. A minor dispute between the two colleagues escalated into a physical altercation. The situation took a deadly turn when Uday attacked Vijay with a kitchen knife used for cutting vegetables, inflicting fatal injuries. Vijay succumbed to his wounds at the scene.

The Mahalunge MIDC police have taken Uday Prakash Giri into custody and are conducting further investigations into the case.
