Shukrawar Peth, 17th November 2025: The Public Works Department (PWD) had begun shifting several government offices from the old building at Khadakmal to the newly constructed Administrative Building (Prashaskiye Bhavan). As part of the relocation process, the department proposed moving the bust of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj installed on the premises of the Haveli Tehsil Office.

Acting on a request from the PWD and with approval from the District Collector, the bust was handed over to the department on 15 November 2025 for restoration and planned installation at the new administrative complex.

However, today, several Shivpremi organisations objected to the relocation. In view of the public sentiments and to prevent any law-and-order issues, officials decided to reinstall the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj bust at its original spot at the Haveli Tehsil Office.

According to the PWD, the bust will be permanently shifted to the Administrative Building after the demolition of the old structures and only after securing all required permissions from the District Collector and concerned departments.
