Pune: Chief Minister Eknath Shinde To Distribute Certificates And Benefits At ‘Shasan Apya Dari’ Campaign In Pimpri Chinchwad On Friday

Pimpri Chinchwad, 15th June 2023: The Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC), in collaboration with Maharashtra state government, will organize the ‘Shasan Apya Dari’ (government at doorstep) campaign, where Chief Minister Eknath Shinde will distribute various certificates and benefits to the beneficiaries of government and municipal corporation schemes.
The event will be held at Thergaon on June 16 at 3 pm. Additionally, Chief Minister Shinde will unveil the statue of Shri Mahatma Basaveshwar Maharaj, erected by the Municipal Corporation, at Nigdi at 5 pm.
The program will be presided over by Chandrakant Patil, the State Higher and Technical Education Minister and Pune District Guardian Minister. Distinguished guests including MP Supriya Sule, Shrirang aka Appa Barane, Dr. Amol Kolhe, MLA Uma Khapare, Sangram Thopte, Anna Bansode, Mahesh Landge, Ashwini Jagtap, Pune Divisional Commissioner Saurabh Rao, District Collector Dr Rajesh Deshmukh, and Pimpri Chinchwad Police Commissioner Vinay Kumar Choubey will also be present.
Under the ‘Shasan Aplya Dari’ initiative, various benefits and certificates will be distributed free of cost to the eligible beneficiaries. A grand mandap has been erected near Padmaji Paper Mill in Thergaon to accommodate the event, with multiple rooms prepared for the distribution process.
The beneficiaries will receive certificates such as income certificates, new voter registrations, resident certificates, Satbara (land record), 8 A (birth certificate), caste certificates for residents of Haveli taluka, age certificates, domicile and nationality certificates, 33 percent women reservation certificates, and senior citizen certificates. Additionally, services such as new corrections and updates of Aadhaar cards, linking of voter ID cards with Aadhaar cards, name reduction on ration cards, name addition on ration cards, Sanjay Gandhi Niradadhar Anudan Scheme, certificates for economically weaker sections, and non-criminal certificates for not belonging to advanced and advanced groups will be provided.
Chief Minister Shinde will personally distribute the benefits to the beneficiaries of the welfare schemes implemented through the Social Development Department of the PCMC. The Municipal Corporation has introduced the Divyang Kalyankari Yojana and Niramay Arogya Bima Yojana for mentally challenged, cerebral palsy, and multi-disabled individuals in the city. Pimpri Chinchwad has become the first municipality in Maharashtra to implement such a scheme. Under this initiative, the municipality will cover the annual insurance premium of Rs 500 for each beneficiary citizen, providing them with medical treatment up to Rs 1 lakh annually.

Furthermore, disabled students pursuing higher education after 12th standard, such as medical and engineering degrees, will receive financial assistance of Rs 1 lakh for the first year. Individuals with disabilities will also receive financial aid up to Rs 1 lakh based on their needs and the type of disability to purchase suitable equipment. The municipality extends financial assistance of up to 50 percent of the sanctioned bank loan or up to Rs 1 lakh to disabled individuals for business ventures. Under the Women and Child Welfare Scheme (Rambhau Mhalgi), financial assistance of Rs 7,500 is provided to girls for technical training or engineering diploma courses.
Under the Pramod Mahajan Women’s Higher Education Financial Assistance Scheme, selected women pursuing higher education courses abroad will receive a financial grant of Rs 1.5 lakhs for the first year. This initiative, known as ‘Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao’, also provides a financial aid of Rs 15,000 to women self-help groups that have completed six months. The distribution of benefits under this scheme will be facilitated by the Chief Minister.
Furthermore, starting this year, Rs 3,500 will be deposited in parents’ accounts through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) for students in classes I to IV, while students in classes V to VIII will receive Rs 3,700 for school materials. These amounts have been determined based on the market price of quality materials. The distribution of benefits to the eligible beneficiaries will take place during this period.
The PCMC has implemented the Gharkul scheme under the Jawaharlal Nehru National Urban Renewal Mission (JNNURM) to provide housing for economically weaker sections. Out of the 158 buildings in this scheme, flats in 147 buildings have already been allotted. The remaining six buildings will allocate a total of 252 flats during this period.
In an endeavor to honor Shri Mahatma Basaveshwar Maharaj, PCMC has erected a statue in Nigdi, covering an area of approximately 3,150 square meters. The space surrounding the statue has been beautifully landscaped, and a 225-meter-long boundary wall has been constructed around it. The statue will be unveiled by the Chief Minister, informed PCMC Commissioner Shekhar Singh.
