Pune: Chief Of Defence Staff Appeals To Build Ecosystem Of Defence Technologies
Pune, 7th February 2023: General Anil Chouhan, Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), today, appealed to build an ecosystem of defence Technologies, research institutions and the manufacturing sector to strengthen India.
He was talking at the inauguration ceremony of MSME Def Expo 2023, organised by NIBE Limited, NIBE Defence and Aerospace Limited at Khalumbre MIDC near Chakan (Pune).
Anil Chouhan said, “The private MSME industry is contributing to manufacturing different equipment for the Indian army. It needs research and development every day to cope with competition and advancement. We should build an ecosystem of defence forces, research institutions, MSME industries and advanced technologies to strengthen India. It will save foreign currency also.”
37 MSME companies participated in this Def Expo 2023. Missile launchers, bridge equipment, cranes, trucks, naval structures, electric vehicles, guns, and other equipment were demonstrated at the expo.
Ajay Bhat, MOS, and Vice admiral Satish Kumar Ghormade, Deputy chief of naval staff, expressed their views through a virtual communication system.
Ganesh Nibe, the founder of NIBE limited, welcomed guests. Expo was organised to mark the second foundation day of the company. Representatives of the MSME industry were felicitated in function. Students and citizens visited the expo.
