Pune: Child Born Out Of Love Affair Killed, Police Arrest Two Persons After Three Years

Mundhwa, 18th September 2021: Three years ago a young woman gave birth to a baby boy out of a love affair. 13 days after the birth, the father of that boy and his friend took him away under the pretext of keeping him in an orphanage.
However, now it has come to light that the child was murdered and his body disposed of in a forest area off Ahmednagar highway in Lohegaon.
Based on the complaint from a 25-year-old woman, Mundhwa police station under Pune city police has registered an FIR in the case. Police have arrested Shubham Mahesh Bhande (23), resident of Wadgaon Sheri and his friend Yogesh Suresh Kale (26), a resident of Manjari.
According to the police, the complainant and the accused Shubham were working in the same company. The two fell in love and had been living together since 2017. The complainant became pregnant. After she informed Shubham about this, he promised to marry her. On 14th March 2019, she gave birth to a child at Sassoon Hospital.
After being discharged from the hospital, the two came home with their child at Keshav Nagar, Mundhwa. The girls asked the accused to inform his family. But the accused refused saying that his family will not accept them. He had assured to keep the child in an orphanage. The complainant opposed but the accused and his friend Yogesh took away the child on March 27, 2019. After some time, the accused returned home, when she asked about the child he told her that the child is safe at an orphanage.
In all these years, he did not inform anyone about the name of the orphanage. Whenever she asked about the child, Shubham told her that their child is ‘safe’. The woman suspected something wrong had happened with the child and lodged a complaint with the police.
Senior Police Inspector Bramhanand Naikwadi, in-charge of Mundhwa police station, said that the child was killed. We have registered a case of kidnapping and murder against the two accused. Today, our team searched the forest area where the body was disposed of and have got important leads, he said.
