Chinchwad, 12th September 2023: Nilesh Deshmukh, the Voter Registration Officer and Assistant Commissioner, is working under the guidance of the District Election Office to carry out activities mandated by the Election Commission of India. These activities aim to maximize voter registration in Chinchwad Assembly Constituency. As part of this effort, a meeting of prominent political party members took place on Monday (11th September) at the PCMC Taxation Department office.

Chinchwad Assembly Constituency currently comprises 510 polling booths. However, considering the rising number of voters and adhering to the Commission’s criteria, office bearers of political parties were provided with accurate information regarding potential changes in polling station locations and the expected expansion of polling stations. Following approval by the competent authority and the Election Commission, all concerned parties will be informed about the reformation of polling stations. Voter list purification is essential for the electoral process, benefiting both political parties and independent candidates participating in elections. Collaboration and cooperation are equally crucial in this endeavour. Registration Officer Nilesh Deshmukh also appealed for the importance of providing necessary instructions in written form.

On this occasion, Voter Registration Officer Deshmukh provided guidance. The meeting was attended by office bearers from various political parties. While giving information about this meeting, Registration Officer Deshmukh said, “Information was given about Form No. 9, 10, 11, 11A and 11B of the Election Commission. These forms are released every Friday at Chinchwad Vidhan Sabha Constituency B, D, C and H Zone Offices and Chinchwad Vidhan Sabha Voter Registration Office through the Voter Registration Office.”

These forms encompass various aspects of voter registration, including new registrations, deletions, name corrections, and address changes, with a summary of these forms outlined above. A meeting of political party officebearers was convened to familiarize them with these five forms. During the meeting, their perspectives were solicited, and comprehensive information about each form was shared. Political party officials provided valuable input during the meeting, suggesting potential improvements to the forms to enhance voter data accuracy.

Deshmukh further emphasized that the Election Commission and the District Election Commission would be consulted for guidance on implementing these suggestions.
