Pune City: 1225 New COVID Cases, 38 Deaths Reported Today

Pune, Aug 23, 2020: In the last 24 hours, a total of 1243 people were discharged from hospitals after recovery from Coronavirus disease (COVID19) in Pune city today. Also, 1225 new patients were detected while 38 people died today. Today swab samples of 4868 people were collected for COVID tests.

 

According to Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC), the total number of Coronavirus positive patients till date has reached 83,395 out of which 66,589 have been cured while 1988 have died. There are still 14,818 active patients undergoing treatment in various hospitals. They include 803 critical patients out of which 493 are on ventilator support.

 

Across Maharashtra, 4,88,271 patients have been cured while the Case fatality rate in the state is 3.26%. As of today, there are 1,71,542 active cases in the state. The recovery rate in the state is 71.55% while the fatality rate in the state is 3.26%. Currently, 12,30,982 people are in home quarantine and 34,820 people are in institutional quarantine. Out of 36,16,704 laboratory samples, 6,82,383 have been tested positive (18.86%) for COVID-19 until today.

 

According to the Union Health Ministry, the number of Coronavirus positive patients has reached 3,044,940 across the country. Out of this, 2,280,566 have been cured and discharged from hospitals while 56,706 people have died and one patient has migrated out of the country. There are still 707,668 active patients undergoing treatment in hospitals across the country.
