Pune city: 835 new COVID cases, 46 deaths today
Pune, Aug 17, 2020: In the last 24 hours, a total of 1049 people were discharged from hospitals after recovery from Coronavirus disease (COVID19) in Pune city today. Also, 835 new patients were detected while 46 people died today. Today swab samples of 4635 people were collected for COVID tests.
According to Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC), the total number of Coronavirus positive patients till date has reached 74,933 out of which 58,706 have been cured while 1785 have died. There are still 14,442 active patients undergoing treatment in various hospitals. They include 765 critical patients out of which 464 are on ventilator support.
Across Maharashtra, 11,391 people got discharged from hospitals while 8,493 new cases and 228 deaths were reported today. The total number of COVID cases has reached 6,04358 out of which 4,28,514 people have recovered and 20,265 have died. There are 1,55,268 active cases.
According to the Union Health Ministry, the number of Coronavirus positive patients has reached 2,647,663 across the country. Out of this, 1,919,842 have been cured and discharged from hospitals while 50,921 people have died and one patient has migrated out of the country. There are still 676,900 active patients undergoing treatment in hospitals across the country.
