Pune city crosses 4,000 mark with 208 new COVID patients today

Pune, May 21, 2020: A total of 208 new Coronavirus positive patients have reported in Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) area till 7.30 pm today, taking the total number of patients to 4107. Also, 159 people were discharged from hospitals, while seven died during treatment.
According to the PMC health department, out of 4107 patients, 2182 have been cured and discharged from hospitals while 227 have died due to COVID19. There are still 1698 active patients undergoing treatment in different hospitals. There are 169 critical patients including 44 with ventilator support. Today swab samples of 1733 persons were collected for COVID test. Till now 37,035 persons have been tested. Out of the 1698 patients, 1063 are admitted at PMC run Naidu hospital, 153 at Sassoon hospital and 482 in various private hospitals.
Among the seven deaths, five were women and two men, all between the age group of 42 to 84 years. They were from Tadiwala Road, Market Yard, Ganeshnagar in Yerwada, Sobha Savera building in Bibvewadi, Nagpur Chawl in Yerwada, Ganj Peth and Hadapsar.
