Pune City Has Adequate Water Storage For Round The Year

Pune, 7th August 2021: With good rain in and around the various dams in the Pune district that provide water to the city, the city will not face the water cut till the next monsoon.

The five dams including the Panshet dam has filled to their capacity similarly, the Khadakwasla dam has adequate water storage. These two dams primarily provide water supply to the city.

Khadakwasla dam complex (Khadakwasla, Temghar, Varasgaon, Panshet dams) has been filled 95.60% which means they have 27.87 TMC water. Last year on the same day they had only 15.89 TMC water. Other dams of the district including Kalmodi, Chaskmaan and Andra too have filled to their capacity.

Temghar dam catchment area received 5 mm rainfall while Varsgaon 4 mm, Panshet 3 mm and Khadkwasla received only 1 mm rain on Thursday.
